Marshfield Branch, YWCA Cambridge
The goal of the Marshfield Branch, YWCA Cambridge Summer Day Camp program is to provide each camper with age and developmentally appropriate activities in an organized environment that promotes social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth in accordance with the YWCA Cambridge mission.
For 8 weeks each summer, the Summer Day Camp at the Marshfield Branch is open to children from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Camp operates Monday-Friday from 9am to 3pm during these weeks. Each week is themed and has unique events that are age & developmentally appropriate. Safety is our #1 priority so we keep our camper to counselor ratio at 7:1 and all our counselors are AED/CPR certified. Since we've been running camp for 50 years, most of our staff members were once campers themselves and they help provide stability and traditions for repeat campers.
Morning care, from 8am-9am, and afternoon care, from 3pm to 5pm, are available each day to help accommodate your busy schedule! We also offer a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program which trains campers 13 and older how to be a camp counselor themselves through reviewing skills for activities used at camp, training in how to teach these skills, leadership development emphasizing respect for others, encouraging development of self-esteem and positive reinforcement techniques. There is also training in safety and techniques for dealing with and resolving conflict.
At the Marshfield Branch we offer one of the few authentic camp experiences in the area, with limited technological interactions and lots of fun! We believe that every kid should have the chance to just be kids and experience nature and their surroundings in a fun, safe, and supportive environment! Our property offers about 10 acres of nearly untouched land featuring a beautiful salt marsh, the Barn, a caretaker's cottage, and 4’ in-ground pool. We partner with local organization Second Nature Social Skills to ensure your child has the best experience possible.
