Boston Classical Soo Bahk Do

Soo Bahk Do is a traditional Korean martial art that whose historical origins date back over 2,000 years ago. It is both an effective self-defense system and beautiful, traditional art form. Boston Classical Soo Bahk Do has been operating out of the YWCA Cambridge since 2001. We teach Soo Bahk Do to adults, teens, and children. We welcome individuals with special needs. Community Conversations: Sister to Sister

Sister to Sister is a women's health initiative that hold monthly forums from September to June on health issues affecting Black women. Sister to Sister offers  interactive presentations and discussions led by women of color in the health care field. Go to for more information.


Huan's Tai Chi

Huan's Tai Chi offers Tai Chi classes at the YWCA Cambridge for all ages and levels. Take a class with Huan's Tai Chi to reduce stress and improve balance, flexibiliy, patience, concentration and over all health. One-month trial for $29. Go to for more information. 


Rumba y Timbal Dance Studio 

Rumba y Timbal Dance Studio is committed to teaching Latin Dance to the local community. Rumba y Timbal offers a variety of classes at the YWCA Cambridge for all levels and holds regular events and workshops. Go to for more information.


Transition House

Cambridge's only domestic violence agency, Transition House, is located at the YWCA Cambride. Transition House works throughout Cambridge to create a community where breaking the cycle of violence is an ongoing priority and where anyone affected by domestic violence can live in safety, access housing, resources and the holistic support they need to thrive.
